Usually burned with Frankincense.
Frankincense and Myrrh were 2 of the 3 gifts brought by the Wise men when they came to see the Baby Jesus. I’m not entirely sure what I always thought these were. Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh…. I guess I always assumed they were like precious stones or something. In depictions Myrrh is given in a bottle…so I guess it was in oil form. i’m not sure. Growing up in the Methodist church we heard the story of the birth of Jesus every year but no one ever actually explained what frankincense and myrrh were….and no one really cared enough to ask. Seriously.. I didn’t know these were resins..or what they even looked like or were used for until I started witchcraft. They became my main incense for obvious reasons.
