To love a swamp, however, is to love what is muted and marginal, what exists in the shadows, what shoulders its way out of mud and scurries along the damp edges of what is most commonly praised.
(she drips and scowls and sings. they use the plants to spell cast and the animals of the swamp sleep with her at night. slowly but surely, she becomes a part of the swamp. the swamp becomes her, too. she sinks down under the water, and watches you peer in.)
she exists in the southern mud and cypress roots. she boils the blood of crocodiles and muskrats and her fingers are singed with swamp gas and moist wood fires. her god is the mist and the murk and the gloom trails from her like a bride’s train dipped in mud.
would you happen to know where one would start if they wanted to get into tarot?
Honestly.. Pick up the Shadowscapes deck. It comes with a book and explains the general use of tarot and even comes with detailed info on all the cards as well as spreads to use in the back. Its my favorite deck and It lends itself and its artwork to help a person learn the cards without needing a book to guide them also.
